Special Forces Rings Honor These Exceptional Members of the Military

US-Infantry
Depending on who you talk to, there is only one unit that
qualifies as the United States Special Forces This would
be the United States Army Green Berets.

This highly trained, specialized group of soldiers is called upon when
traditional means of military action simply won’t get the job done.

The first Green Beret designation occurred in 1953, but it wasn’t fully authorized
until President Kennedy acknowledged this “mark of distinction” in 1961.

Since then, the Green Berets have always been considered to be a very elite group of soldiers.
They are considered a “cut above” the traditional solder, enduring conditions and scenarios
that many others cannot. These are some of the most self-reliant, resilient soldiers that the
United States military has and they are held in high regard.

Customize a Military Ring

If you or a loved one has had the distinct honor of serving this country as a Green Beret,
then it’s time to recognize that service with a Special Forces ring.

Of course, there are traditional Army rings available, but when you serve in the Green
Berets, a simply Army ring won’t suffice. Special Forces rings are a visual representation
of the endless hours of training, incredible fortitude, and unbelievable responsibility that
comes with being a Green Beret. This unit requires a great deal from their soldiers,
including the highest level of integrity, skills, and sacrifice.
This is why a traditional Army ring simply is not enough.

When searching for Special Forces rings, you should take care to find a company that will help you design a ring that truly expresses the core values of this unit. The Special Forces crest is held in very high regard and is often chosen for the top of the ring.

This engraved crest can be done in color or simply left in the beautiful tones of the precious metal the ring is made of. The sides of a Special Forces ring often contain a symbol or emblem of a specific military campaign the Green Beret were part of or even an insignia that few would understand.

Special Forces rings can be engraved inside the band with a two to three word phrase, initials, or a date. Not only does this add a personalized element to the ring, but it also makes it easier to identify should the ring become lost or stolen. These rings are treasured and passed onto to children and grandchildren as mementos of their relative’s honor and sacrifice.

You can order Special Forces rings and Green Beret rings online and it only takes a few minutes.

two and three weeks for you to receive your ring.

You can also have the ring shipped anywhere in the world, such as to one of the
many locations where Special Forces are currently deployed.

Special Forces rings are a unique and individualized way to recognize
the honor, dedication, and sacrifice of these elite military members.

Military Friendships

deployment ring
In our early development years probably one of the first
memories we have is that of becoming friends with some
fictitious person and actually moving into their world
for a time, because we felt so safe and comfortable there.

And yes, we would only move out of there sometimes because
of a question from one of our parents inquiring as to
whether we were away with the fairies or not.

As we progressed and moved on to school we only felt comfortable
in that environment when we became friends with some others in the
class and moved on to have friends with the opposite sex.
Those were the days not a care in the world and sometimes life long friendships was developed.

Military Friendships Are Very Healthy.

Ft. Knocks – Kentucky
I remember one of the most heart touching displays of friendships was when I was working in Iraq, I was promoting military rings there for the troops, well actually the deployment ring which was quite new at the time. I was at our display when to young soldiers stopped by enquiring as to what was going on; we shall refer to them as Jason and Damien.

I gave them a presentation on the rings and how they could purchase one. Both of the soldiers decide that they would like to purchase a ring but one of them, Damien was getting married and could not fit it into his budget. His friend was writing up the paperwork for his order when Damien said he would he would wait for him in the Post Exchange. Before Damien strolled away, Jason enquired as to what size his wedding ring was going to be, he said it was size eleven and his girlfriend had already had it back home.

Military Rings Band of Brothers

Band of Brothers
We continued on doing the paper work for Jason and when he had finished I gave him his receipt and thanked him for his order. I was getting ready to say goodbye, when he stopped me and said, I’m not finished, I now want you to get an order form and I want to make another order for this special deployment military ring, for Damien.

I’m doing this because he has been my best friend since high school and right through the military. We have fought side by side in Iraq and he saved my life, so this little ring is going to be my surprise wedding gift to him and I’m sure that when we both go our separate ways that this little military ring will make us both realize that we are truly a little band of brothers and friends.

Military Rings used as Wedding Rings

For members of the armed forces it’s not always so easy to go shopping for the big day especially if you are away on deployment or separated by states or countries from your loved one. It’s not surprising then the amount of people that are turning their attention to military rings for the engagement rings and wedding bands.

You can have both family names on both rings and the wedding date plus many other details engraved. The amount of options over and above conventional rings are many and the cost is very much less, so let your wedding gift to each other be, a custom military ring with a complimentary pendant also.

Special Forces Rings and Challenge Coins

The history of the Special Forces challenge coin is quite interesting, although it doesn’t date back as far as the Special Forces rings. The first military rings were presented to the 1835 graduating of the United States Military Academy. Ever since that time, the military ring has become an important part of military life as a visual reminder to the service and sacrifice of soldiers, Marines, sailors, and airmen.

Challenge coins are somewhat different. A story goes that the first challenge coin appeared in the 1940’s.

The Lodge Act allowed non-citizens to join the Army and there was such an influx of different nationalities into the 10th Special Forces Group, that a coin was designed to prove that many of these non-English speaking soldiers were indeed a part of the 10th SFG. In 1969, Colonel Vernon E. Greene had a Special Forces challenge coin designed for a fundraiser. The front of the coin featured a Trojan Horse.

The money would go towards a German wood carving of a Special Forces Trooper. This statue is now housing in a climate and temperature controlled environment and it considered a prized possession of the United States Army.

Since these two instances of challenge coins, hundreds of other designs have emerged. Nearly every military unit has a challenge coin, with the designs as unique as the missions. Challenge coins have a “special” use, too.

Many a solider has had to buy rounds for his fellow men. The coin is slapped down on a table in a bar. The last soldier to get his coin out and on the table has to buy a round for all his friends. It’s a tradition that is quite popular today and just adds to the camaraderie of the military.

These challenge coins are a great collector’s item, but for something a bit more personal, you should look towards a military ring. The level of personalization on these rings is truly amazing. From the choice of precious metals, such as gold, silver, or Valedium, to the hundreds of insignia and emblems for the sides, military rings are as unique as the individual. Many of these rings are ordered while in the various military academies. Others are used to recognize service in a specialized unit or military campaign. The inside of these rings can be personalized, too, with a short inscription, date, or initials.

Military rings, such as those representing Special Forces, are an item of pride for these elite Army members. Some of these pieces of military jewelry are only worn for special occasions and ceremonies. Other military members wear these rings every day. Because these rings are so easy to order, many family members surprise their loved ones with a specially designed military ring. You can order right on the internet and it only takes a few minutes. You can have these rings shipped almost anywhere in the world. If you’re looking for a truly unique and special gift for your military friend or family member, then consider a military ring.

The evolution of US Military Rings from an ancient tradition through to today

The origins of Military Rings go back to ancient times
Military rings have been in existence in various forms since ancient
times; they were present in both the Roman and Egyptian Armies. They
were worn to signify military affiliation and of recognition of honor and
sacrifice on behalf of the individual soldier.

Military rings first appeared in the US at the US Officer training academies
At the US Military Academy of West Point in 1835, the then members of the Cadet class in training designed their own individual rings and purchased them at their own expense. This caught on and has been consistently observed ever since, in 1869 the Naval Academy followed suit.

These class rings were presented as a “badge of honor” and were considered similar to a diploma to the graduating cadet. Graduating Officers wore these after graduation to commemorate their sense of fellowship with their class colleagues.

Iraq War – Camp Victory

We are quite used to hearing about deployment from the United States to places like Iraq and Kuwait especially over the last decade or so. What I want to relate to you in this article is the importance of understanding redeployment and the enormous amount of planning and work that goes into it.

Camp Victory -2004

aug-25-kuwait-002Back in 2004 this small little Camp about 70km north of the city of Kuwait which would take you about 45 minutes to drive, and incidentally you would be taking your life in your hands to drive the highway to get there. I will now go on record to say the the Kuwaiti drivers at that time were the worst in the world that I came across. It was a normal sighting when heading out to any of the camps I worked in to arrive upon an accident. When we refer to an accident in the US or Europe we think of a fender bender, no not in Kuwait this was usually fatal for someone. I now believe its much better as the authorities have introduced a speed limit and hopefully have saved many lives.

The Camp itself had a constantly changing population ranging from at least 600 to 15,000 troops along with equipment and vehicles. This one square mile of camp set in the desert North of Kuwait and about one hour South of the Iraqi border became a hive of activity and of joy. This camp was where the troops arrived in from Iraq along with their equipment and they now knew they were on their way home and away from the perils of war. Here they would purchase their military rings, have them designed with their deployment details from Operation Iraqi Freedom dated like this example OIF 2004-2006.

Camp Victory – Military Rings

It’s not the most picturesque place in Kuwait but for many soldiers on the return journey back to the United States and their families it probably seemed like heaven, here they would receive a well earned rest in a safe environment after having served in one of the most hostile regions of the Middle East namely Iraq. The responsibilities of the camp was to provide security, billeting, food services and various other logistical services that you would expect.

Camp Victory – Redeployment.

The redeployment of a unit or brigade does not happen overnight, in actual fact it can take anywhere from 15 – 25 days to go through the process. Equipment has to go through a cleaning and sterilizing process before it can be loaded on the ships for the long journey home. You will see soldiers who haven’t had a moment to realize what they have been through until now, some have lost their comrades and you or I can’t even begin to imagine what these fine young men and women have gone through but you can see it in their eyes.

Tonight think of them and say a prayer and thank them for our gift of freedom. Remember someone died for it!

A Soldier’s Prayer For The Army

Military Rings

Military Rings

This is a prayer I read in the Ft Hood Herald

I Pray

Almighty God, with an upright heart I have left my dear one at home, to defend my country against its enemies.

My thoughts constantly go back to them.

They are thoughts of love and anxiety.

I ask you loving God to keep a watchful eye over each and every one of them.

Soothe their hearts and help them to bear my abscence patiently.

Protect them from the dreadful dangers of war.

O my Lord, I ask not much for myself just only the courage to perform my duties well.

I offer You this day and every day my thoughts, words and actions as prayers of faith in You, of hope in Your provident care, of love of You and Your justice.

May my prayers parallel all my service and sacrifices for my fellow comrades, my family and my country, proctect them all and bless them now and forever.

For all those who have died welcome them into your loving embrace. Gracious Lord, lend and ear of compassion to the supplication of a soldier – your child – serving my country to the best of my ability out of love for You. Amen.

Keep me and my brave colleagues safe as we enter a world of human beings that do not know us, but rather than get acquainted would like nothing better than to kill us.

Make this world a safe place for me and my brave colleagues.

Watch over my family back home and keep them safe until I return to them.

Every time I look at my military ring let me think of nothing else only the pride I have in the military of our country.
