Coast Guard Rings
The United States Coast Guard is probably quite similar to other Coast Guards around the world in so far as that their main purpose is to protect the environment, the public and of course the economy and security on the nation. It has jurisdiction in both domestic and international waters and in wartime will work under the Department of the Navy but in peace time it works under the Department of Homeland Security.
The Coast Guard patrols the sea around our nation but also the inland waterways which may be at risk from narcotics dealers and other undesirables.
Coast Guard Ring
The Coast Guard ring is very similar to all the other military rings in that they can be customized with all the personal and military details of the member.
Quite a few of the Coast Guard personnel have served in overseas campaigns and they like to wear the coast guard ring to reflect this.

Coast Guard Ring and the Motto;
Like all other departments of the Armed Forces that have mottos the Coast Guard is no different. Their motto is “Semper Paratus” which is the Latin for “Always Prepared” and we are sure glad that we have them to protect us from evil. The Coast Guards roots stem back to August the fourth 1790 when Alexander Hamilton established it under the Dept of the Treasury and was actually the only Navy Force that the United States had until the re-establishing on the US. Navy in 1798.
One of their functions in that time was to address the situation with regard to piracy which was wreaking havoc on the high seas and to assist and other vessel that might be in any difficulty.
They are often referred to as the 1st Fleet but this is only an informal way of referring to them as they were in essence the only protection during the years from 1790 to 1798 for our coastline and other sea going vessels.
Modern Coast Guard Ring
In 1915 or around that time the merging of United States Life Saving Service and that of the Revenue Cutter Service formed the United States Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard are not just a docile department, they have taking part in conflicts and campaigns like the War of 1812, the American Civil War and World War Two where they operated under the US Navy.
Coast Guard Ring Ethos;
-
I am America’s maritime guardian.
-
I serve the citizens of the United States.
-
I will protect them.
-
I will defend them.
-
I will save them.
-
I am their shield.
-
For them I am Semper Paratus –“Always Prepared”
-
I live the Coast Guard core Values
-
I am a Guardian.
-
We are the United States Coast Guard.

Airborne Ring
On the East Coast of the United States the beautiful state of North Carolina is situated with miles and miles of welcoming beaches and inviting tourist areas. There are a number of military installations scattered throughout the state but the one that comes to mind immediately is Fort Bragg and it is also one of the most historic ones especially over the last century. It is home to the very effective 82nd Airborne, US Army Special Operations Command, Field Artillery Brigade, Corps Support Command, XVIII Airborne Corps and the Joint Special Operations Command.
82 Airborne Ring
This is a special ring that can be customized to carry those much recognizable AA on the sides with possible your name over it and on the other side, details of a special deployment or mission can be engraved. The 82 Airborne plays a vital role in the defence and support of national interest, it is one of the airborne divisions that can deploy within twenty four hours notice and perform parachute entry assault initially for the operations that will follow later. In earlier years when they were first formed their key missions were to take control of strategic locations like ports and military airfields and this hasn’t changed much over the years. The division is on such a state of alert and readiness that up to one third is ready to await the call of duty within a very short period, another third is in constant training and the remaining population of the division is a state of combat readiness. It is referred to as “Americas Guard of Honor” and rightly so as it has been involved in every conflict that I can recall and have read about from the Second World War to the most recent conflicts and campaigns in the Middle EastAfghanistan
101st Airborne Ring
Travel over the Smokey Mountains and up through Tennessee and through some of the most breath taking scenery in the United States you will eventually arrive in another welcoming state we call good old Kentucky where blue grass music fills the air. Right over the border with Tennessee you will arrive at the gate of Fort Campbell and of course if you don’t have the proper pass you will not be allowed on to this secure installation. This is home to the 101st Airborne Division Air Assault, 101st Corps Support Group Regiment, 160th Special Operation Aviation Reg. 5th Special Forces Group and of course the Air Assault School where all this training starts.
Airborne in Europe
After the Second World War when the Germans were defeated by the United States ant its Allies the US retained a presence in Europe and of course the Airborne was one of those divisions. If you go to Italy to this day you will see that the 173rd Airborne division is stationed there and in Germany in the Northern Baviria such as Bamberg a quaint and beautiful University City you will have pockets where the other Airborne units and divisions are influential.
Military Friendships
In our early development years probably one of the first memories we have is that of becoming friends with some fictitious person and actually moving into their world for a time, because we felt so safe and comfortable there. And yes, we would only move out of there sometimes because of a question from one of our parents enquiring as to whether we were away with the fairies or not.
As we progressed and moved on to school we only felt comfortable in that environment when we became friends with some others in the class and moved on to have friends with the opposite sex. Those were the days not a care in the world and sometimes life long friendships was developed.
Military Friendships Are Very Healthy.

Ft. Knocks - Kentucky
I remember one of the most heart touching displays of friendships was when I was working in Iraq, I was promoting military rings there for the troops, well actually the deployment ring which was quite new at the time. I was at our display when to young soldiers stopped by enquiring as to what was going on; we shall refer to them as Jason and Damien. I gave them a presentation on the rings and how they could purchase one. Both of the soldiers decide that they would like to purchase a ring but one of them, Damien was getting married and could not fit it into his budget. His friend was writing up the paperwork for his order when Damien said he would he would wait for him in the Post Exchange. Before Damien strolled away, Jason enquired as to what size his wedding ring was going to be, he said it was size eleven and his girlfriend had already had it back home.
Military Rings Band of Brothers

Band of Brothers
We continued on doing the paper work for Jason and when he had finished I gave him his receipt and thanked him for his order. I was getting ready to say goodbye, when he stopped me and said, I’m not finished, I now want you to get an order form and I want to make another order for this special deployment military ring, for Damien. I’m doing this because he has been my best friend since high school and right through the military. We have fought side by side in Iraq and he saved my life, so this little ring is going to be my surprise wedding gift to him and I’m sure that when we both go our separate ways that this little military ring will make us both realize that we are truly a little band of brothers and friends.
Military Rings used as Wedding Rings
For members of the armed forces it’s not always so easy to go shopping for the big day especially if you are away on deployment or seperated by states or countries from your loved one. It’s not surprising then the amount of people that are turning their attention to military rings for the engagement rings and wedding bands. You can have both family names on both rings and the wedding date plus many other details engraved. The amount of options over and above conventional rings are many and the cost is very much less, so let your wedding gift to each other be, a custom military ring with a complimentary pendant also.

A Soldier’s Prayer For The Army

Military Rings
This is a prayer I read in the Ft Hood Herald
I Pray
Almighty God, with an upright heart I have left my dear one at home, to defend my country against its enemies.
My thoughts constantly go back to them.
They are thoughts of love and anxiety.
I ask you loving God to keep a watchful eye over each and every one of them.
Soothe their hearts and help them to bear my abscence patiently.
Protect them from the dreadful dangers of war.
O my Lord, I ask not much for myself just only the courage to perform my duties well.
I offer You this day and every day my thoughts, words and actions as prayers of faith in You, of hope in Your provident care, of love of You and Your justice.
May my prayers parallel all my service and sacrifices for my fellow comrades, my family and my country, proctect them all and bless them now and forever.
For all those who have died welcome them into your loving embrace. Gracious Lord, lend and ear of compassion to the supplication of a soldier – your child – serving my country to the best of my ability out of love for You. Amen.
Keep me and my brave colleagues safe as we enter a world of human beings that do not know us, but rather than get acquainted would like nothing better than to kill us.
Make this world a safe place for me and my brave colleagues.
Watch over my family back home and keep them safe until I return to them.
Every time I look at my military ring let me think of nothing else only the pride I have in the military of our country.
Iraqi Freedom
In May of 2004, I got the call to report for duty, my first assignment in the Middle East.
Like all others who had gone before me I was apprehensive and anxious.
The mind is a strange thing, and the thoughts passing through it as the departure day approached, were to say the least somewhat mixed.
But there was this calm, because I had made a decision at least that was one thing less I had to worry about.
The Military Family
My family were foremost on my mind, what if something happened to me when I was away, who would care for them, would they feel unloved because of my decision to go away or did the think it selfish of me.
I landed in Kuwait on the 16th of May 2004, it was early in the morning around 06.30 in the morning and the first thing I can still remember was the ferocious heat that blasted into my face as the automatic doors of Kuwait International Airport separated to allow me into this country, where I would spend a lot of the next four years.
For anyone not familiar with Kuwait, the first thing that will test your resolve to be patient is getting through immigration, be prepared to wait at least an hour and sometimes longer for officials to return your passport with your visa that will allow you into the country for ninety days.
If you want to stay longer and work this requires you to obtain a visa 18, a much more complicated and lengthy process, and my advice to you is to book the services of a good agent.
Military Rings and Kuwait
During my time in Kuwait, I was on Camp Victory, Camp Virginia, Camp Arifjan, Camp Buehring, LSA and Camp Doha.
My assignments in Iraq were in Balad, Camp Annaconda.
This was my first experience of what war was all about, the roar of the jets taking off on their missions at night, the rattle of machine gunfire around the perimeter of the camp.
Going to sleep and then to be woken up during the night to run to the bomb shelters for safety, this could happen a few times during the night, and I must say the nicest memory of the place was waiting at the PAX terminal to get to hell out of the there.
My thoughts are always with the ones who would not be comming home and of course to their loved ones.
Military Rings and Home-Sickness
I remember on the 3rd of May spending my birthday sitting on top of a container, which was my bunker, my home and which now held my few possessions and at night my dreams.
Those were dreams of beautiful other half Eleanor, my two daughters and three fine sons who supported me at all times, and my Mum and Dad and other siblings.
I spoke to soldiers, who were right on the front line, who were injured, some whose buddies had been killed, but I was always impressed by the sheer determination of these fine young men to get the job done and make this world a better place.
Its these fine young men that we shall always owe a debt of gratitude to, for our freedom.
In years to come, lets remember these men as brave warriors, and look after them as they go into the autumn of their lives.
Lets no let history repeat itself.
Whatever administration we elect to manage our affairs and run our country, demand of them, the acknowledgement of these fine young men the make up all the Dept’s of our Military, and who fought for our freedom.
Are we ever really free? —————-
Now the Soldier’s Creed might make Sense to all who read it.
The Soldier’s Creed
I am an American Soldier.
I am a member and a warrior of a team.
I serve the the people of the United States and live the Army Values.
I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat. I will never quit.
I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and
Proficient in my warrior tasks and drills.
I will always maintain my arms my equipment and myself.
I am an expert and a professional.
I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy the enemies of the

I ask that I do what I have to do with compassion and fairness.
Military Deployments
Here are some of the MOS’s of the United States Special Forces and we trust gives you some idea of what these MOS’s means and the work they entail especially during military deployments.
Military Deployment and the Communications Sergeant!
This MOS requires that the sergeants have a thorough knowledge and grounding in all aspects of communications, such as the following like communication procedures, the technology of computers and the assembly and dis-assembly of systems applications.
They must understand the use of and the maitainence of AM, HF, VHF, FM and UHF radio systems and the Joint Base Station.
Communications is so important that they must be proficient in voice to data, continuous wave and burst radio nets by being able to work networks and the various computer systems.
Critical messages that link the SFODA with its command is very important for the Sergeant to be able to perform, and must be able to give orders in any occasion and under any circumstance to any group of combat forces.
We have created a military deployment ring for this role.
Military Deployment and the Engineer Sergeant!
This MOS is mainly about planning, design and construction of buildings, demolition, special purpose munitions, mine warfare, counter booby traps, and unexploded ordinances clearance operations and improvised munitions and explosives.
The “Engineer Sergeant” must be an expert and also be proficient in this field as it carries a huge amount of responsibility.
Combat engineering, demolition engineering, and construction in deployment zones such as Iraq and Afghanistan sometimes requires that the Sergeant must be able to communicate in English and the local language by himself or through the aid of a translator.
They can organize, train and recruit any size of command in any area of the world if the situation requires them to do so.You can create a beautiful military ring to reflect all of this especially if their was a deployment involved.
Military Deployment and the Medical Sergeant!
The MOS of Medical Sergeant like any body in the medical field plays a huge and important role anytime, anywhere both in peace time and times of deployment and engagement.
They specialize in trauma management, surgical procedures, cardiac procedures, and a basic understanding of dental and veterinary procedures.
They establish field hospitals in areas of engagement to support operations in wartime and at the time of this writing they are in Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan and other well know areas.
I myself have attended their facilities in Kuwait and Iraq.
Recruits selected for medical positions attend two hundred and thirty days of advanced medical training, they also spend two months of the year on a trauma rotation in emergency rooms of select hospitals.
One of the nicest military rings available to custom design and also a military deployment special.
Give them they respect they deserve as one day you might be the one on your back looking into the eyes of this person totally depending on their skill to keep you alive.
Deployment Rings
Since the beginning of the last century the majority of families in the United States that have family members serving in the United States Military have come to expect that at some stage their loved one will have to deploy to some faraway place in order to defend our country and our freedom.
Currently we have our troops serving in Afghanistan, Kuwait, Iraq, Africa and Korea.
What are Deployments?
Deployments are quiet simply the movement of soldiers out of their home country, to a foreign nation or territory, sometimes at the request of a country whose peace and stability is threatened by a more powerful neighbour.
An example of this in more recent times, was the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq in the latter part of the last century and the earlier part of the current century.
The historic deployments that we read about and are probably more familiar with is the 1st World War, 2nd World War, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
How long do Deployments last.
There are no mandatory or ideal length of any deployment but in the norm troops can be deployed for periods of six months, twelve months, fifteen months and in some instances more.
Military leaders and department of defences have a lot of factors to consider when making such decisions such as the size of units or brigades, weather conditions in the host country, distance to conflict zones, and of course the level of threat.
Perhaps the easiest way to answer the question is deployments last until the mission is completed.
Who goes on Deployments.
If we take the current deployments such as Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom you will observe that all departments of our defense forces have been involved the Navy, the Army, the Marines and the Air Force.
Of course some people we should never forget are the Reserves and the National Guard who train at various times of the year to keep themselves prepared to assist our regular troops in conflict zones.
Both male and female members make up our military personnel and no one as far as I know is exempt from being deployed unless on medical grounds.
Any member of the military who for whatever reason refuses to deploy faces severe consequences including a possible prison term and a discharge from the military.
There was a case in Tacoma, Washington where an Army Lieutenant who refused to deploy to Iraq with his Stryker Brigade from Fort Lewis because he said that he believed the the whole idea of Iraq having weapons of mass destruction was completely manipulated to fit an already implemented policy prior to the attacks of 9/11.
Deployment Gifts
Every soldier that serves overseas away from family and friends deserves the biggest thank you from all of us.
And one way we can show our gratitude is to get them a gift that they will treasure for the rest of their lives.
Deployment Information
When any young man or woman joins the military especially in the present climate they are nearly certain to spend a little time of their years in the service on deployment outside the country of their birth.
Now rather than been downbeat about this try and look at it another way, you will get the opportunity to travel at the expense of the government, travel to places that you would normally never dream of going near, and experience the diverse cultures that exists outside your own comfort zone.
What To Bring.
- If you are a religious person a bible or a prayer book will help a great deal, and I have spoken to soldiers on deployment who before they left the US would never read or say a prayer and now today would advocate the comfort they experienced by reading the wartime prayer book.
- Photos of loved ones help a great deal, put them in your billfold or in your military accomodation and show them off to your friends.
- Bring some cd’s or other forms of music that remind you of good times back whom.
- Your address book with all you addresses so that you can send the odd post card, and let me tell you their is nothing as nice as to get a hand written letter from someone, if in this modern age of communications a letter is so treasured.
- Purchase your self a nice custom military ring from Military rings.com
- and put some details on their that will remind you of good times you had with your buddies or family.
- Bring your personality with you, have a laugh and surround your self with good, true and honest friends when on deployment.
What You Need To Do
Get to know your host country, the culture and the terrain, simple things like how to greet people, this will open a lot of doors for you.
Remember what is accepted at home is not necessaraily the same in the host country.
Always Remember You Are Loved and Treasured.
